Happy Friday gang.
We were at the Rare Breeds Show last weekend in our home Melton Mowbray Market. Our many market neighbours and friends were doing a brisk trade on the day, including Darryl Woodward and his wife Angela of 1324 Espresso.
"We first visited attended the Melton Mowbray Food Festival and the Artisan Cheese Fair six or seven years ago and caught the bug for events," says Darryl. I could see a gap in the market for high quality artisan coffee for the more discerning coffee drinkers who visit the market every week. I approached the new owners about opening a premium espresso bar and I've now traded for just over a year. Both Angela and myself love the buzz and customers who come to see us each week. They work with an ethos that I relate to and believe in. Local produce is really celebrated. The 'Rural Capital of Food' title has been a huge boost to the economy of the town so where better to be involved but at Melton Mowbray Mowbray? "
What would Darryl like to see from Round Corner? "An American-style IPA that's coffee-flavoured," he grins.
